San Luis, Arizona.- The program of the 6th San Luis Film Festival to be held on November 14th-17th, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center was announced today by the members of the San Luis Film Festival organization committee, on a press conference celebrated at La Bodega restaurant.
Mr. Antonio Carrillo, President and Founder of the festival, said this year the event will feature a short film contest along with the screening of independent and international films. “The idea of including a short film contest comes after the vision of putting San Luis, Arizona in the map as a community that likes to attract not only local, regional and international movies, but international creations to keep promoting the appreciation of film making,” expressed Mr. Carrillo. A call for entries was made on May for independent and professional film makers and so far the SLFF has received close to 200 entries from countries including Spain, France, Mexico, United States, India, Iran, United Kingdom, Australia, among others.
A panel of filmmakers, journalist, artists, educators, and critics will select the top three works for each category (Best Amateur, Best Opera Prima, and Best Professional, Best Documentary) and the nominees’ works will be screened every day for the public to vote for their favorite.
